QUESTION: Is my puppy registered / registrable through the American Kennel Club?

ANSWER: YES!!! The litter has ALREADY been registered through the AKC and you will be given your Registration Papers immediately when you receive your puppy. You will then either go online to register your individual puppy, or you can mail in the paperwork that we will give you to have your puppy registered in your name and with the name you choose for your puppy.

QUESTION: Do you offer a health guarantee?

ANSWER: Yes! Our puppies are guaranteed including a 1 year congenital health guarantee. Your puppy is guaranteed to be free of disabling congenital defects (things that the puppy is BORN with that may not become apparent until later, such as heart problems, etc) until the age of 1 year. Your puppy is guaranteed for a period of three days (72 hours) to be free of illness. This health guarantee DOES NOT include stress induced illnesses such as stress induced hypoglycemia or coccidia. This sometimes happens when the puppy is stressed from the actual moving to a new home or the new surroundings.  A letter from your vet is required in the event of a problem. This guarantee is limited to replacement only. Money refunds will not be made. Veterinary expenses are not covered. All freight charges will be paid by the buyer. This guarantee is not transferable to a second party.

QUESTION: How do I reserve a puppy?

ANSWER: Fill out the Reservation Form.

QUESTION: How do the waiting lists work?

ANSWER: Each of our puppies can have a separate waiting list. Some lists are long, and some are rather short. For example, the waiting period for the first pick male may be longer than for a standard female, though it depends on your preference. And, it depends on the preferences that other buyers have for the litter.

QUESTION: How does the Puppy Selection Process work?

ANSWER: We do puppy selection when the pups are between 6 and 7 weeks old - that's when their personalities are really starting to establish themselves. We start from the top of the list (in order by reservation date), and offer all the available pups to each person in order by date of reservation. We discuss individual personalities & what you are looking for in the puppy. Then, the person can either choose a pup, or decide to wait for a later litter. That decision must be made within a reasonable time period - We can't hold up the selection process for a day or two for someone to make that decision - it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the list. If a person decides to wait for a later litter, that person still retains his place in line. Each person is given up to 24 hours to respond to our calls, though it sure is helpful if people respond promptly.

QUESTION: Is it necessary to send in a deposit?

ANSWER: It's not required, but realistically, its the best way to get your puppy in a timely manner in the gender that you are hoping for. If you don't send in a deposit, you basically sit at the end of the line. If you do send in a deposit, the deposit holds your reservation date, and you keep advancing up the line as puppies are chosen by people ahead of you on the waiting list.

QUESTION: Are deposits refundable?

ANSWER: The deposit is COMPLETELY refundable for any reason until you choose a specific pup. Once you have chosen a specific puppy, and the puppy is over 6 weeks of age, we do not refund the deposit, though part of the deposit can be transferred to another puppy at that time or in the future. The amount of the deposit, in that case, will be reduced by any expenses that have been incurred in order to prepare the puppy for shipping (health certificate, etc.)

QUESTION: How does shipping work? What about picking up the puppy locally?

ANSWER: We can have the puppy flown to you, or we can meet you locally (Houston, TX), or we can meet you at Hobby Airport when we are dropping off puppies that are flying (generally on Thursdays.) If we fly the puppy to you, we make all the flight arrangements for you. We make the flights about a week in advance (weather and scheduling plays a large role). At that time, we send out an email with the flight information, and payment details. To meet locally, just send us an email or give us a call to set up a meeting. We DO NOT MIND you coming to our home to look at and pick out your puppy, however we DO NOT encourage just random "puppy shopping".  Most of the people who are familiar with Rottweilers will know whether or not they want to purchase a puppy from us based on the information listed on this website and copies of all of the pedigrees & linage.  We STRONGLY encourage people to research and know what kind of environment their puppy comes from, whether they are looking to purchase a puppy from us or anyone else and we will be happy to send you photos often (daily if requested!) so that you can see how your puppy is doing.  However, again we don't encourage people that are just driving around from one place to another to just look at puppies.  This can cause a lot of harm and presents a huge danger to our puppies as normally these people have just been around another litter of puppies that could have been infected with any kind of illness.  Unfortunately, even the most diligent, clean, and well meaning visitors can bring an illness into the puppies environment without even knowing it.  Not all puppies show outward signs of being ill and some could simply be a carrier.  We know the care that we give our animals, but we have no way of knowing the health of other puppies or the conditions that they are kept in.  And, if only ONE of our puppies gets sick, it is extremely likely that the whole litter will contract the illness.  With that being said, we will only encourage SERIOUS buyers to come here to view the puppies.   We will also be happy to meet you somewhere with the puppies so that you can see them without taking the risk of some kind of illness being brought into their environment via contact with shoes (and even clothing).  The puppies truly have very few immunities at such an early age and are easily susceptible to many viruses and illnesses.  If you think about it, hospitals don't allow random people into a nursery to view babies, even this is done through the glass to protect the newborns.  Newborn puppies are quite the same in that their immune system is not yet fully developed and should not be exposed to unnecessary dangers.  Again, we ENCOURAGE you to come by and take a look at the puppies and how they interact with one another and their different personalities and traits, but we also encourage you to be a SERIOUS buyer and not needlessly expose the puppies to anything that could cause them harm.  And, if we are meeting you at Hobby airport, we send an email with directions, balance information, and schedule a day or two in advance (we often don't know a firm time until then because we have to consider the flights of all the puppies going, and some of the puppy sales can be last minute.) Generally, the meeting time at Hobby Airport is between 7:30 and 11:00 am, though sometimes we have earlier or later meeting times. The costs of shipping, handling, and travel, when applicable, will be emailed to you.

QUESTION : What is the best way to contact you?

ANSWER: Through technology today, we can always be reached via email almost immediately, as soon as you hit the send button the message will be sent simultaneously to our cell phones. Of course you are welcome to call us at 281-724-9618 between the hours of 10:00 - 8:00 and we will always do our best to get back with you as soon as possible if we happen to miss your call.

QUESTION: How much are the Shipping and Handling charges?

ANSWER: The airfare costs between $190.00 - $240.00 depending on the location we are shipping to and the airline used. There are other associated costs that also includes the kennel ($25), health certificate for the airlines ($35), handling ($25), and traveling to the airport ($25). The price varies with the airline and destination. The total usually runs between $300.00 and $350.00.  You always keep the kennel that we send the puppy in.

QUESTION: Do you recommend one type of food over another for our new puppy?

ANSWER: Yes, we do.  We have always fed our dogs with the Purina Pro Plan line of food.  Though it is a bit more expensive than other foods, it is well worth it for the nutrition your puppy will get from it.  And because it has such a high nutritional content, your puppy will actually need to eat less of it than other cheaper brands of kibble.  This is the food that your puppy will be eating when he/she goes home with you and we will provide you some to take with you until you are able to buy some on your own.  We will also provide you with coupons for the Purina Pro Plan line of food so you can continue to keep your puppy on this excellent source of nutrition.  Here is a link from Purina Pro Plan with a guide to caring for your new puppy.
